It is a port of entry for the US and separated by only a fence from its sister city of Mexicali in Mexico. The beautiful beaches of San Diego and Baja California are accessible for day trips. Calexico’s climate is sunny year-round. It offers an enchanting blend of American and Mexican cultures. Calexico began as a tent city of the Imperial Land Company and has grown into a larger thriving city on the US-Mexico border. Calexico’s small-town feel with its convenient proximity to the metropolitan areas of Mexicali and San Diego, make it a great place to live and visit.
